Why Buy Used?
The argument for considering second-user equipment can be summed up with three major factors:
– Cost Second-user equipment costs typically 40-80% less than the new equivalent
– Availability Usually readily available
– Speed Can be delivered within days
Additionally, second user equipment is generally more reliable. Out of box failure rates for new/sealed equipment usually range from 2-5%.
Digital Diagnostics Monitoring
Inveho’s house brand optical SFP transceivers supports standard digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) functions where applicable. This feature is also commonly known as digital optical monitoring (DOM). Modules with this capability gives the end user the ability to monitor operational parameters of the SFP – such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current and transceiver supply voltage – in real time.
This functionality is commonly implemented for monitoring on routers, switches and optical transport equipment via SNMP.
